At Tahmina, we care about creating products that are clean for you, local communities, and the earth. In an effort to be ethical caretakers of our planet, Tahmina prioritizes using sustainable packaging for our products. We want to make sure that everything you purchase is clean for your family and the environment. We utilize many eco-friendly materials, like biodegradable pyramid bags, USA recycled steel, recycled packing materials, and paperless invoices and documents. Our tea is packaged out of a zero-waste facility, which helps us toward our goal to leave as little environmental trace as possible. If you’ve purchased a Tahmina tea tin in the past, we encourage you to repurpose our tins as a tea holder, pen holder, and many other uses to reduce waste!
One thing that is new about our tea is that we’ve added organic ingredients to our blends. Health is more important than ever before, which is why we as a company have intentionally chosen not to use products with chemicals, pesticides, or artificial ingredients. Our transparent, pyramid tea bags ensure that you can see every ingredient that is in each tea bag, along with origin notes on every label so you know where your tea has come from. No more tea dust in opaque tea bags that are also reflective of opaque supply chains- we care about what you put into your body, and you deserve to have ethical and clean ingredients.
Pure and natural ingredients also tend to be the ones that have the most unadulterated and high quality flavors. We take pride in the flavor profiles of each tea blend, and have included them below if you’re curious to find out what each one tastes like:
- Saffron Chai: A bold, organic Assam black tea with Indian Chai-style spices and Afghan saffron. This whole leaf blend has a robust body with multiple layers of flavor, finished by smooth, delicate notes of saffron. Saffron works as an emulsifier in this blend to create a smooth and luxurious chai blend that will be different from more bitter or strong chai’s you may have tasted before. Pair with: a splash of milk, a cozy blanket, and your favorite morning routine.
- Saffron Rooibos: An organic, caffeine-free tisane of South African Rooibos and honeybush, with lemon, ginger and Afghan saffron. This whole leaf blend has a sweet and earthy body finished off with tangy and complex notes. The Saffron Rooibos had a very unique flavor profile compared to other rooibos teas you may have had, and it is well balanced and creates a symphony of flavors in your mouth. Pair with: honey to taste, your favorite candle, and relaxing evening music.
- Saffron Sencha: Organic, steamed Chinese green tea with ginger root, lemongrass, peppermint, and saffron. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, this whole leaf blend has a vegetal body finished off with refreshing notes. Like all quality green teas, our Saffron Sencha is designed to be steeped at a lower water temperature than pure boiling water, but it's lemongrass and peppermint notes also make it a great iced tea for the summer. Pair with: honey to taste, a picnic blanket, and a sunny autumn afternoon.
